PRIVATE PARIS by James Patterson and Mark Sullivan features Jack Morgan, ex-Marine helicopter pilot, now founder and head of Private Investigative Services headquartered in Los Angeles with offices worldwide. Jack flies to Paris for a long awaited vacation where he receives an urgent call from Sherman Wilkerson, a wealthy friend and client in Malibu. His 27-year-old-granddaughter, Kimberly, last seen in Paris has gone missing. He is concerned because Kim is his only living relative. Locating Kimberly was relatively easy. However, because she is being chased by notorious drug dealers returning her to the States becomes an elusive task dragging Jack and his friend and manager of Private Paris, Louis Langlois, through hour after hour of murder and mayhem in and around the streets and businesses of Paris. As an aside to the prime story, Jack and Louis also become involved with a venturous Islamic terrorist organization that leaves their graffiti calling card, TagAB-16, at murder sites of some of France's greatest artists, writers and designers. For the most part I thought this aspect of the story was confusing, monotonous and dull. One facet did catch my attention, “an Islamic republic in France will become a reality—it is the will of Allah.”This was not one of Patterson’s best. I give it only 3-stars. Private Paris was a so-so read, not exciting, not dull.

Private Paris 9780750543439 Books Reviews
I enjoyed reading this book by James Patterson and Mark Sullivan. I hadn't read anything cowritten by Mark Sullivan. This book seemed to move along slowly at first, and then it really captured me. I like how two different stories are going at the same time. At first this was difficult for me to follow, and then it clicked for me. I think I'd benefit from going back to the beginning and reading the first part again. Just something I think I need to do. I took French in middle school, and enjoyed reading the words the best I could as they were written in French. If you have traveled to Paris, you would really relate to the places and the shops that are mentioned in this book.Private Paris
I'm a James Patterson fan. I pre-order his books as soon as their announced. Often that means months of wait expectantly. I was not disappointed by Private Paris.
Jack Morgan, the owner and founder of Private, goes to Paris at the request of a client to find his grand daughter and bring her home. Things rapidly spin outed control when the girl disappears soon after Morgan finds her.
The story involves the Paris police and to complicate matter more complicated, unrest in the Muslim ghettos breaks out into, ajar riots. Jack Morgan gets involved when a threat is made to Private Paris.
This complication pits organ against the police and the Minister of Justice. Both want him deported ASAP.
You'll enjoy this book if you're a fan of international intrigue. I recommend reading Private Paris.
'Private' is a robust, multi-location security firm and 'Paris' is its branch office, ergo, 'Private Paris'. Private has multiple capabilities; surveillance, guard security, world-class forensics labs, investigations, etc. and seemingly unlimited resources although they regularly use Uber cabs rather than armored limos and the company principals get their hands dirty with foot chases and vaulting walls. This adventure delves into a terrorist cell that wants nothing less than a total ethnic war in France leading to the total expulsion of all Muslims. A cheeky and big-canvas conceit. There are the lightest of romantic suggestions but no action unlike the obligatory boffing in most current mysteries. The book was engaging and ultimately satisfying. A worthy romp.
PRIVATE is a global security and investigative agency, founded by Jack Morgan, and Jack heads the PRIVATE team. Louis Langlois heads up the Paris office of PRIVATE. In Chapter One, another, but connected story begins, where someone is targeting the most powerful people in Paris, and only Jack Morgan can make it stop.
Midway through Chapter One, Jack, who is in Paris, learns, from a phone call from Sherman Wilkerson, that he is worried about his only grand daughter, Kimberly Kochinsky. He had just gotten off the phone with her, and she had said there were drug dealers hunting for her, trying to kill her, and had begged him to send someone to save her. Wilkerson then asked Jack if he would go. Jack had replied that of course he would.,,And he goes, and does save her.
In THIS novel, which starts in a building in Paris, Epee (The Sword) looked to his north, beyond an Islamic bookstore, toward the office of FEZ couriers, a messenger service. She was right where he remembered her to be from his scouting trip the week before. He reached down, tugged the kaffyeh scarf up over his lower face and began to jog toward his target. His target was a mosque, and his weapons? Two cans of spray paint. The graffiti tag was of his own design, blood read and dripping, blood red and dripping, and said AB-16. After escaping from the police, who had been waiting, expecting that he would arrive, the sword thought, as he moved on, only 48 to go. And so begins a tale, in Paris, of drug dealing, violence and explosions, and snipers shooting people in the streets from high buildings, all meant to take over the city in the name of AB-16.
Unfortunately, there are many, too many detrimental factors that require much skimming to find content, including, but not limited to, extended descriptions of mundane events and activities that require skimming before content is found. Were it not for these detrimental factors, PRIVATE PARIS would have been an exciting novel to read. With them, it is just O K.
